FAQ

bulletHow do I Join?

A: Easy!  Just come to our next training meeting, see training schedule, meetings are Mondays at 7 pm
at the Mt Zion United Methodist Church's fellowship hall, see map.  Once there, introduce yourself and fill out the
            appropriate paperwork.

bulletDo I need experience?

A:  No, but if you have experience in any applicable field it will help!
If you have experience, knowledge, skills, etc... Great!  You could be a great asset to our team!

bulletDo I need all that Gear?

A:  Not all at first.  You should acquire the gear over time.  Don't go out and buy all expensive and fancy gear
as you feel out the program you can ask to borrow gear or find out where to find good 2nd hand gear

bulletWhere am I supposed to get all that gear?

A:  From us, from local stores and internet sites

bulletWhy are you taking so long to reply to my Email?

A:  I probably owe you an apology!  Believe it or not we get a lot of emails and I get to them as fast as I can
(but not as fast as I would like)

bulletCan I join if I am not a kid or don't have kids?

        A:  Yes

bulletWait a second... You take High School aged youth on Search and Rescue Missions?

        A:  Yes

             Are you all crazy?

A:  No, but that would explain a few things

bulletI may be new but I have "tons of experience," can I go straight to searching?

A:  No, not until we are comfortable with you (pretty much meaning you've reached COQ status) - lives are at stake.

bulletWhat's wrong with cotton?

A:  "Cotton Kills" cotton may be the fabric of our lives but that doesn't mean a happy life.  Cotton does not do well with moisture-
meaning if you are wearing cotton and you get wet; you stay wet and you will be cold.
Try to stick with materials such as synthetics or wool for camping gear.
