nights activities we might meet in 2 places.
Most likely we will be at the end of the hallway on the main floor in a
conference room.
But for training or some activities we may be in the Fellowship hall.
 | Whats the difference between being a youth and an Adult

A: Youth are ages 14-20. Adults are ages 21-up.
Everyone participates in each aspect of meetings, trainings, and searches.
However adults have added responsibilities such as driving, monitoring and
ensuring safety.
Each job/office held has a youth and adult assigned to ensure the best outcome.
 | Do I need all that
Gear? |
A: Not all at
first. You should acquire the gear over time. Don't go out and buy
all expensive and fancy gear
as you
feel out the program you can borrow gear or find out where to find good
second hand gear

A:
From us, from local stores and
internet sites

 | What's wrong with cotton? |
A: "Cotton
Kills" cotton may be the fabric of our lives but that doesn't guarantee a happy life.
Cotton does not do well with moisture-
In most cases wearing cotton is great. However if you get it wet, it stays
wet longer than other materials.
Try to stick with fabrics such as synthetics or wool for camping gear.
 | How often do we go on searches? |
A:
It depends on how frequently people in the Mid Atlantic get lost-
Sometimes there are months between searches, sometimes we respond to more than
one a day

A: No,
we train for ground search and rescue which sometimes means that we will work
with/along side of a dog team,
however we do not directly train dogs.
 | Can my participation in MSAR count towards service hours
for schools/honor societies? |
A. Yes, in
most cases.
